Does Blurify find the faces, or do I drag the emoji myself?

Can I use a different emoji for each face?

Yes. The sticker is set per region, so one face can wear the sunglasses smiley while another gets the ghost — or you select them all and give them the same one. There are 22 to choose from: eighteen emoji (grinning, sunglasses, heart eyes, disguise, face mask, shush, see-no-evil, ghost, alien, robot, cat, dog, pumpkin, heart, star, fire, no entry and 18+) plus four plain shapes — a black disc, a black square, a starburst, and a question mark.

Will part of the face still show around the emoji?

That depends on the sticker's shape. A round emoji is sized to cover the oval of the face inside its box, so the corners of the rectangle — usually hair or background — can still show around it. Any sticker that is not a full disc — the star, the heart, the ghost and most of the animal emoji — is drawn over a strong blur of the region, so nothing shows through its gaps. If a box looks tight around the face, drag its handles to make it bigger before you export.

Can someone remove the emoji later?

No. The export is re-encoded pixels, not a layer sitting on top — the face isn't in the downloaded file, so there is nothing to peel off or filter back. EXIF and GPS metadata come off in the same pass. Keep your original if you might want the face back one day.

Emoji, blur or pixelate — which should I use?

It's a question of tone, not of safety: all of them are baked into the exported pixels. An emoji is playful and covers the face completely; a gaussian blur is the softest and most photographic; pixel blocks read as the classic censor.
